Metro Atlanta’s usual July Fourth celebrations will be dampened this year by the fear of coronavirus, which has led numerous cities and counties to cancel their plans.
Fireworks and parades, typically as much a part of the summer holiday as flags and pool parties, have been canceled around the four-county metro area.
Some cities are still planning to celebrate Independence Day with drive-by parades or virtual events held at a distance or enjoyed by video. So put on a patriotic mask, keep a safe distance, and enjoy the holiday reimagined during the pandemic.
