DECATUR, Ga.—DeKalb Voter Registration and Elections (DeKalb VRE) announced the location of 13 advance voting locations and changes to the schedule, giving voters expanded opportunities to vote early. Advance voting in DeKalb begins Oct. 16 and concludes Nov. 3; weekdays 7 a.m.–7 p.m.; Saturdays, 9 a.m.–6 p.m.; and Sundays, noon–5 p.m. Election Day is Nov. 7, and polls will be open from 7 a.m.–7 p.m.
“This year we’re thrilled to provide 13 advance voting locations strategically placed across the county,” said DeKalb VRE Executive Director Keisha Smith. “Drop boxes are located inside six of the advance voting locations, and they’re accessible during voting hours. We encourage voters to make a plan to vote and vote early. As part of your plan, be sure to double-check your location before you vote on Election Day.”
Voters can request absentee ballots by visiting DeKalbVotes.com or by visiting the Secretary of State’s My Voter Page at mvp.sos.ga.gov. The last day to apply for an absentee ballot is Oct. 27. Completed absentee ballots can be returned via drop box (during advance voting only), mailed back, or hand-delivered to the DeKalb VRE office located at 4380 Memorial Drive, Ste. 300, in Decatur. As a reminder, mailed and hand-delivered ballots must be received by DeKalb VRE by 7 p.m. on Election Day in order to be counted.
Drop boxes for absentee ballots will be located inside the following six advance voting facilities: DeKalb VRE Office, Dunwoody Library, Lynwood Recreation Center, The Gallery at South DeKalb, Stonecrest (former Sam’s Club), and Tucker–Reid H. Cofer Library. They will be accessible during voting hours.
Everyone planning to vote on Election Day should verify their polling place in case the location has changed.
