DeKalb County Medical Examiner’s Office Mourns the Loss of Investigator Richard Grant
DECATUR, Ga.—The DeKalb County Medical Examiner’s Office is saddened by the sudden and unexpected passing of DeKalb County Medical Examiner Investigator Richard M. Grant. Investigator Grant passed away on Thursday, July 16, 2020, while on duty serving the citizens of DeKalb County.
Investigator Grant has been a valued member of the DeKalb County Medical Examiner’s Office since June 2019, after previously serving 24 years with several law enforcement agencies, including Fulton and Clayton County Police Departments.
Investigator Grant is survived by his wife, Linda, and his two sons, Marquis and Rasheed Grant. Investigator Grant brought a smile to the face of anyone he met. He will be truly missed. Please keep Investigator Grant’s family in your thoughts and prayers as they go through this difficult time.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 24, 2020, from 6 to 8 p.m. and will be limited to 10 guests at a time inside the facility.
Celebration of Life Services will be held on Saturday, July 25, 2020, at 9 a.m., and will be limited to 50 guests inside the facility.
