Jonathan “J.P.” Phillips

Constituent Liaison

Jonathan “J.P.” Phillips is a lifetime Georgia resident and has resided in the Super 7 District for over twenty-two years. JP was born in Griffin, Georgia where he was a member of the Griffin High School Class of 1980. Along with completing his Marketing Degree in 1984 from Morehouse College, he has completed M.B.A. courses at Keller Graduate School of Management and Health Care Science courses at Atlanta Technical College.

J.P.’s business experience includes over twenty-three years as a small business owner of Visions USA, Inc., an advertising and event management company. Clients include, but are not limited to, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, The Georgia Lottery Corporation, Coca-Cola USA, Inc., and Decatur Pediatric Group, Inc. J.P. has dedicated more than ten years to the community as an Outreach Volunteer for Decatur Pediatric Group’s New Dads 101 Expectant Dad’s course. He also created, developed, and facilitated workshops for the Babies R Us store at Stonecrest. For more than two years, J.P. has served as the Director of Marketing and Community Outreach for Kids Doc On Wheels, Inc., a community pediatric mobile medical unit for disadvantage children.

As a dedicated public servant, J.P. was appointed to the DeKalb County Board of Commissioner’s District 5’s Planning and Zoning Committee, where he focused on responsible planning and zoning to improve DeKalb. J.P. is married to Lynette Wilson-Phillips, MD. They have three children; Rochelle, a student at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, PA; Ryann, a junior in high school; and Rhamsei, an eighth-grade middle school student.
